Chicago – Italo – Synth
Bordeaux based Jann presents a show on French Ola Radio. For the 10th edition he invites Ober Mannkind & my alter ego Dunkeltier to provide a mix and we countered with a fresh and uplifting mix of minimal synth and NDW.
Afficionado Jann is he introduced the show with during the 1st hour with a matching, but more eclectic mix of vintage songs.
Just before X-mas I was invited for Disco Cirkev at Ankali, arguably the best club in the Czech republic.

I tried to play as much obscure and Canadian electronic Disco as possible. So – on purpose – not exactly the cliché Italo disco. Disco Církev had a very welcoming, open, party-hard, gentle crowd like nowhere else! Thanks to everybody who expressed their appreciation in words after my set. Top-notch sound and monitoring at Ankali. I am still happy for the opportunity. I played mostly from vinyl and edited the recording for the best possible listening pleasure.

My Camp Cosmic set 2018 from Humboldthain, Berlin on the Krossfingers podcast series:
I was hesitating for 9 months due to the wild mix of Soviet, US and German disco. However when listening with some distance I overcame my doubts and felt my original intention again to rather create a universal uplifting feeling of happiness. Could that even be the essence of the Camp Cosmic in a nut shell?

Серенады (Serenades) is a multicultural label, podcast, events and musical collective – from Russia with love.
Sneaker is affiliated with the Dresden label Uncanny Valley and their sublabels. During their label night at Berlin club “Salon zur wilden Renate” on the 25th of January 2019 he recorded this set on the Rat Life floor. Rat Life Records is the sub label for music and rats who don’t fit in elsewhere. Misfits so to say!
The set is mostly vinyl records. It starts more obscure with a nod to Sneakers Dunkeltier moniker then moving on to the roots – comprising classic house from the UK, continental Europe, NY, Chicago and Detroit.
Sneaker also operated the fog machine and strobelights on the green floor while mixing this set. He made heavy use of these ½god-like powers … much to the chagrin and dismay of the dancers.

This mix is a recreation of what I played in early (European) summer last year in Lithuania, Prague and my home town Jena. Although playing all gigs as Sneaker I realized just now that it more tends to be wavish songs in the style of my alias Dunkeltier than what you might expect when knowing my Sneaker EPs. 90% of the selection have vocals or song structures – it seems the music knows me better than I know. And that feel is also what’s in the tube for many EPs in 2018.
Each piece of music has a story – whether you know it or not. In my case that is especially true and I wanna give you an insight on how I let the music flow through myself.
On a mild weekend in March I played at Rabitza. A club at the forefront of the progressive Moscow scene – now raided brutally and closed by the Moscow authorities.
