Departing from the contemporary no-thrills-house-techno hegemony, Subspace takes control of About Blank tonight and heads off towards new and underrated styles in electronic music, straight into the middle of new-wave, synthwave, electro and acid.
In order to not get lost between cosmic synthie trips, melancholic 80s wave and electro-acid madness, we invited 90s-techno-legend Kim Rapatti aka Mono Junk to perform a very special wave-techno set. Having once been one next to Basic Channel and Robert Hood who paved the way for raw acid-electro-techno in the 90s, his recent releases on Forbidden Planet and Ratlife increasingly cross the boundaries of techno, wave and italo noir and make us very excited of his performance. Additionally we invited new-wave-disco maniac DJ Sneaker from Uncanny Valley, who is also known for his “Dunkeltier” interpretations of classic new-wave hits, which he often integrates in his thereby almost hybrid DJ sets. Truly live will be the show of Jennifer Touch, who will, after an opening set of the two Berliner ed:son and yemed29, perform her new synthwave-italo album.
