Returning to a Cosmic fest after last year’s hiatus left me with one big question – what to play? The 7″ collection didn’t grow considerably in the last 2 years. So I picked the records that grew accumulated since I played a darker set – well … as Dunkeltier in 2016. Not particularly «Cosmic» either. But remarkably psychedelic – not only because of the Timothy Leary citations – and therefore in the Cosmic tradition in a wider sense. It’s clashing here and there – the typical friction I accept, I am even seeking for in my sets ever since (or at least since the Disco Train is rolling on Rat Life 1 in 2013). Far from synced, generic patterns the mix is challenging you with disharmonic dubbing, dares to layer badly edited originals (comparable to disco records «without a click») and even entirely different metra. Not mentioning the hard to grasp sunless tunes before I blend into more celestial realms.

I don’t offer a tracklist, but I wanna point you to two tunes by the fabulous label Moonwalk X (stay up-to-date on Insta here!) – run by the equally genius and adored DJ turning head by shouting his name Cid Hohner.

With their anthem for the Camp Cosmic festival Bionda e Lupo
rolls out a carpet on the dance floor for a new 12″ series on “Eine
Welt”.
Label maker Alexander Arpeggio personally feeds the project with
his own sounds. Together we float through the sound of the 80s
through authentic warm stories.

Release date is unpredictable due to the known pressing plant issues – but we hope before July 15, 2022

Im Sommer 2019 fanden sich Bionda e Lupo in ihrem Berliner Heimstudio ein und komponierten die offizielle Hymne zum Festival Camp Cosmic. Eingesungen und final produziert wurde der Song dann im Tailout Studio in Dresden im Winter 2019. In der weiteren Besetzung: Am Schlagzeug unser hochtalentierter Roland TR-606, am Bass und an den Tasten unser treuer Pro-One und natürlich das russische Streicherensemble “Monika” (Electronica EM-25) mit Phaser Smallstone.

Wie immer zuständig für die harmonische Mischung und das meisterhafte Mastering: Lupo. Alexanders Dubs wurden von Bernhard Range gemischt.
Die farbenfrohe Illustration zeichnete Luka Neugebauer inspiriert vom Festivalbesuch. Und die Schriftgestaltung verdanken wir Julian Sulz.

Sonniger Dank geht an unsere Camp Cosmic Familie und alle Freunde, auf die wir uns keinen Reim machen konnten. Jede Ähnlichkeit zu liebenden Personen ist rein ohrfällig.

This week’s Bordello Radio is a live recording of Sneaker’s DJ set at Cosmic Gathering earlier this month! A lovely mixture of italoesque obscurities.

The Cosmic Gathering is the successor of the Camp Cosmic found by Albion in 2011 in Sweden and now organized by Alexander Arpeggio and friends in Chemnitz, Germany. The original devotion to cosmic disco (mostly on 7″) is still preserved on a dedicated floor.

All vinyl, but 2 thrown-in demos by our band Bionda e Lupo (Follow us!) and myself. You’d have the guess which ones. :)

Dear people of the universe!
Things are looking bright for a cosmic reunion this summer. We’re fondly anticipating the chance to have a weekend full of dancing, eclectic music, sunshine, and meeting with familiar and new faces. Gathering together to relax by the pool or in the sauna, between wild times on the open air dancefloor.
The music program will consist of live sets and DJ sets with an unconventional approach, showcasing a wide spectrum of sounds that transcend traditional genre boundaries. Thus creating a place for diversity, love and freedom, with new paths that are ready to be crossed.
We want to engage our community with an open call for installations, workshops or performances. Feel free to contact us for inquiries.
The Gathering will take place at “Alte Spinnerei” and its surrounding spaces. A lovely outdoor venue on the edge of the East German city Chemnitz. The festival ground has two beautiful outdoor floors including amazing sound systems and is full of natural elements and spaces to hang out. There will be food stands with a diverse range of meals and multiple bars open 24hrs. Besides that, there is a charming pool for sunny hours and a spacious sauna for chili mornings. There will be more beautiful things to discover while wandering around. Even though it is in the city, there is a green and quiet camping ground with toilets and showers waiting for you just 300m away from the stages.

After many discussions and trying to grasp the current situation, we came to the conclusion that we basically want to have a good time and that in a responsible way. We’d like to offer you and ourselves the possibility of playing some music on an amazing soundsystem, socialize, enjoy the heat of the sauna, lay in the pool or just sit around and enjoy the good weather.
The event will be official, so we will stick to the current corona rules. Hygiene rules and social distancing are very important now, so we expect you to be aware of this when you enter the location and take this very seriously! We will have enough space for you to camp. For the camping area we will not be able to provide the hygiene rules, so you need to take care of that yourself when you interact with people around you.

Sneaker & Stirnband connects a mutual (or mutant) love for NDW (New German Wave), German Disco, Schlager and Gertalo (German Italo). They carefully selected their 1,5h opening set for the Friday afternoon at Camp Cosmic starting in dazzling sunlight until the climax of the sunset.
Besides rare 12″s and singles the mix includes some extended Sneaker edits and reworks.
For those who don’t know the Camp – Camp Cosmic is THE event for disco diggers in Europe since invented by Albion in Sweden in and now co-hosted by Alexander Arpeggio and a bunch of underground supporters from Dresden and Berlin. People from all over the world gathered for a weekend of disco magic. 2019 the festival took place in Chemnitz, Germany. Over 70 DJs and artists from more than 10 countries performed at the festival. The festival hosts a 2nd stage for electronic live acts and rather obscure DJ adventures.
